Exercises
The practice of each lesson is a calculation in the academy calculator, a template or a list. The templates are in the materials section.
01 · The deal: one retreat from two sides
- Who is responsible for what — lay out a retreat across the four contract models and name who pays for empty places.
- One deal in the calculator — find the two profits and break-even, compare 20 and 12 guests.
- First the profit you want, then the price — add the forgotten lines and derive the price from a target profit.
- Cash: money over time — find the cash gap and close it with two levers.
02 · Cancellations, a short group, the law
- Two cancellation calendars — lay the venue's scale over your terms and remove the gap.
- "Non-refundable" does not mean untouchable — rewrite your cancellation terms as a table by days.
- When a retreat becomes a package holiday — go through the checklist of signs.
- Insurance, exchange rate, the body — sort risks across three insurances, set a currency reserve.
03 · Leader: the idea, the guest, sales
- Who your guest is — describe one guest in five lines.
- Your own audience and a co-leader — estimate the group by your own circle, write down expectations of a co-leader.
- Sales against the cash plan — choose a sales pace and payment options in the calculator.
- Between the first payment and arrival — place points of contact on the timeline.
- The booklet: it sells and it promises — build the booklet and clear every agreement error.
- Your audience before the retreat — make a 12-week promo calendar.
- Where: a region for the idea — pick three different regions and check one with a guide.
04 · Leader: the program and the guests
- An honest practice card — fill in two cards.
- The grid of days — lay out the program with load and rest.
- The guest form and the menu — build a menu and carry the cost into the calculator.
- Arrival logistics — fill in the arrivals list from a single date.
- The retreat itself and after — compare plan with actual and write three terms for next time.
05 · Venue: package, occupancy, payback
- Package and rate — compare three models through the venue's eyes.
- Meals in the package — build a menu and write the final menu deadline into the contract.
- Occupancy — work out the venue's year by month.
- A payback spreadsheet that lies — find eight mistakes in the teaching model.
06 · Venue: leaders and groups
- Whom to host — apply the checklist to a teaching leader.
- Terms from the venue's side — build a scale from your own obligations.
- Supporting the group — place the venue's steps on the timeline.
